Streaming Platform Live.me Promotes Its Top Broadcasters With Billboards

In hopes of promoting its platform and the creative people who use it, Live.me is taking a page out of YouTube’s book. The year-old streaming app has bought about 20 billboards in the Los Angeles area on which it is advertising some of the bright stars who have found considerable audiences through their broadcasts.

Live.me launched the first of its billboards on June 9th, with more arriving over the following weekend. The streaming app will also install some signage in Anaheim in time for VidCon, which begins on June 21st. Live.me had a significant presence at last year’s VidCon as well, and will be present at the 2017 edition of the conference as well.

The billboards, which depict Live.me stars alongside imperative statements like “Ride the Wave” and “Get Silly,” resemble the ones YouTube erected beginning in 2014

as part of a series of campaigns to promote its own creative community. In Live.me’s case, the creators receiving the spotlight include Amber-Tiana, Sammie Freaking Firth, Blame Ryan Carter, ActionJacksonn, and Sofie Dossi, all of whom entertain thousands of fans with regular streams.

“I’m freaking out,’ said Firth, a top Live.me broadcaster who will appear on several panels at VidCon, in a press release. “I started using Live.me as a way to meet people after I moved to the U.S., and now I’m on billboards around Los Angeles. For others looking to ride the live broadcasting wave, I’d just say, ‘have fun and be true to yourself.’”

Live.me, which celebrated its first birthday back in April, is available for both iOS and Android devices.
