Popular lip-syncing app Musical.ly is teaming up with the Billboard Music Awards to celebrate the most-covered songs on the platform this year. While the fan-voted honor won’t be presented during the Billboard Music Awards broadcast — airing on ABC this Sunday — the winner will be announced during a red carpet live stream kicking off on Twitter at 6 pm ET on May 21.
Nominees for the Top Covered Artist award include: The Chainsmokers for Paris, Noah Cyrus’ Make Me (Cry), Shining by DJ Khaled featuring Beyonce and Jay-Z, Julia Michaels’ Issues, and Most Girls by Hailee Steinfeld.
Voting is open now through May 20. In order to vote, fans must post a lip-sync cover video of the nominee of their choosing to the BBMAs Musical.ly folder. In addition to handing out the award, Musical.ly will also have popular creators JoJo Siwa (pictured above) and Carson Lueders on the red carpet to create lip-sync cover clips with attendees.
