Studio71 Plans New Shows Featuring Lilly Singh, Rhett & Link, Family Fun Pack

Ahead of its 2017 NewFronts presentation (which it will deliver via a digital stream rather than a live event), Studio71 announced that it would launch an incubator program alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. That, however, was not the only piece of Studio71 news to go live ahead of the network’s pitch to advertisers. It also shared a press release in which it revealed programs it plans to produce alongside top YouTube stars.

Studio71’s roster of partners includes digital media notables Lilly Singh, Rhett & Link, and Family Fun Pack, all of whom will launch new shows on their respective channels alongside the network. Family Fun Pack, for example, will “feature new musical talent” for its subscribers while pushing the scope of its operation up to five channels in total. Rhett & Link will also spread themselves across multiple destinations, with a food-related program serving as the next addition for their recently-launched This Is Mythical hub.

Beyond the shows it is producing for ad-supported YouTube channels, Studio71 also touted the content-related partnerships it is forging with notable distribution platforms. It is now in post-production on the feature film Lifeline, which it will bring to YouTube Red.

“Studio71 is closing out a year of tremendous growth in which we’ve more than doubled our monthly video views,” said Studio71 President Dan Weinstein in a press release. “The new slate expands our reach with primetime audiences and bolsters our leadership position as a network of premium content that strongly appeals to brand partners.”

Here, via the release, are details about Studio71’s upcoming series:

New content from Seven Bucks Digital Studios and Studio71. Studio71 will work alongside Seven Bucks Digital Studios, the digital arm of Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia’s Seven Bucks Productions, to produce six new pilots this year. Their first pilot, which is in partnership with Mike Tornabene and Gian Hunjan, co-creators of the “Bro Science Life” YouTube channel, is a scripted workplace comedy starring Dom Mazzetti, a.k.a. the Brofessor, and a group of wild and self-proclaimed gym gurus, and social media wannabes, as they try and keep The Church of Iron (Dom’s gym) open for business. The pilot will consist of a series of four episodes, each roughly 8-10 minutes in length, which will be released weekly on Seven Bucks Digital Studios’ YouTube channel, to be packaged for potential third party distribution. The pilot will be executive produced by Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia and Erin Lardy from Seven Bucks Digital Studios and Dan Weinstein, Scott Brown and Mo Darwiche from Studio71. Chas Lacaillade of Bottle Rocket Management manages Tornabene and Hunjan and will also serve as an executive producer on the project.
