Amazon Luminary Jill Soloway Extends Overall Deal With Streamer For 3 Years

Jill Soloway, the brains behind the Amazon smash Transparent, has extended her overall deal with the streaming giant for three years beginning in June 2018.

Soloway, whose latest show for Amazon is I Love Dick, starring Kathryn Hahn and Kevin Bacon, will continue to develop projects for Amazon via her Topple Productions through 2021, Deadline reports, and she will continue to serve as the showrunner for Transparent. I Love Dick, based on the Chris Kraus novel, is a half-hour comedy about a married couple’s mutual obsession with a charismatic professor. It premieres on Friday.

Soloway has won two Emmy Awards for directing Transparent, a groundbreaking series that explores what it means to be transgender. The show, which was Amazon’s first to win an Emmy, has won eight Emmys overall, as well as two Golden Globes. Other TV series in the works by Topple and Amazon include Cowboy Girls, Singe!, Shugs & Fats, and Homecoming Queen, according to Deadline. The two companies also have three feature films in the works, including 10 Aker Wood, Chelsea Girls, and The Nest.
