Submissions and fan nominations are now open for the 7th annual Streamy Awards, a celebration of the year’s most notable accomplishment in online video. The awards, to be held at The Beverly Hilton on September 26, will be broadcast live on Twitter.

Hopefuls can tender submissions on the official Streamys website beginning today through June 9. Both fans and industry professionals are invited to submit their nominations. Nominees are selected by the Blue Ribbon Panel — an illustrious group of creators, executives, and other industry experts — as well as by fan vote. Two Audience Choice Awards — for Creator Of The Year and Show Of The Year — will be decided entirely by fans.

The Streamys, presented by Dick Clark Productions and Tubefilter, will undergo several changes this year, including an expansion of the Branded and Social Good awards categories, as well as the addition of Comedy and Drama Series awards. In the performance categories, gender distinctions have been removed, and select categories have been broadened to include creators who distribute their work primarily via social media. A full list of this year’s 47 categories is available here.

“Our new awards reflect the spirit of the industry, abandoning gender distinctions to focus on the unparalleled talent and passion that drives the creator community and their audiences,” said Streamy Awards creator and Tubefilter co-founder Drew Baldwin. Last year’s Streamys, broadcast on YouTube, clocked 750,000 views and 6.8 million total votes cast in the Audience Choice awards categories.

Adds Ariel Elazar, EVP of brand, marketing, and digital strategy for DCP: “Creators continue to use Twitter to not only distribute their content, but also as a primary way to engage with their audiences, so it is a natural fit to be the home of this year’s Streamy Awards.”
