The Gabbie Show’s First Book Is ‘Adultolescence’, An Illustrated Poetry Collection

Gabbie Hanna is getting artsy with her inaugural literary project — a poetry collection called Adultolescence that will also feature original illustrations by the Vine-star-turned social luminary.

Hanna, who goes by The Gabbie Show online, announced the project today across her social channels, and also released a YouTube video in which she unveiled the venture while reading passages from her teenage diary. Adultolescence, which is being published by Simon & Schuster, will seek to “capture the essence of what it means to come of age in today’s world,” according to a jacket description. The 150 poems — and 150 corresponding illustrations — are described as “confessional, whimsical, and darkly humorous.”

Adultolescence — not to be confused with fellow creator Arden Rose’s just-released advice tome Almost Adulting — is available for preorder now, and hits shelves on September 19.

“It’s not like anything you’ve ever seen before from any YouTuber,” Hanna says in the release video (below). “It touches on a wide range of topics — from funny advice that I can give you, and dreams, to more serious topics like mental illness and homelessness, depression, and anxiety.” Hanna will unveil the Adultolescence cover and share preview pages from the book on social media in coming weeks, she says.
