YouTuber Colin Furze Announces How-To Book For Young Inventors

U.K. creator Colin Furze, who spun his plumbing career into a full-fledged digital empire, has announced his very first book, This Book Isn’t Safe. Furze, whose YouTube channel counts 4.5 million subscribers and features viral clips teaching viewers how to construct homemade hoverbikes, DIY Wolverine claws, and other crazy concoctions, will share 10 all-new and kid-safe inventions in the how-to book.

The book, published stateside by Penguin Random House, is now available for preorder and hits shelves on September 12. In the U.K., it will bow on the 7th. Inventions featured in This Book Isn’t Safe include concrete shoes, a downhill trike, and a room-tidying lever — all of which will require nothing more to build than household items and a basic toolkit.

Furze says the aim of the book is to encourage young inventors. “As a result of me doing all these crazy inventions and build projects on the internet, I’ve been inspiring our mini counterparts to get into engineering and sort of follow in my footsteps,” he said of the project. With this aim in mind, This Book Isn’t Safe will also provide a pictured glimpse behind the scenes at some of Furze’s most famous creations.
