Voting is available here through April 20, and winners will be named by the public as well as The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS) — a committee comprised of Jimmy Kimmel, Eva Chen, Questlove, Alexis Ohanian, and more — on April 25. The Webby Awards will also host a celebratory event on May 15 in New York City, where — in keeping with tradition — victors will deliver five-word acceptance speeches.

Given that 2016 was a particularly charged year in politics, many of the nominees emerged from this realm, said Webby Awards executive director David-Michel Davies. “In a year marked by so much discord and divisiveness, The Webby Awards is honored to recognize the work and efforts of our nominees as they explore new ways to use the Internet to inform our world and bring people together,” he said.

The Webby Awards introduced 10 new categories this year having to do with podcasts, as well as one new category recognizing the best in social video. The Internet companies earning the most nominations in 2017 were Google (16), Vice Media (15), Conde Nast (14), and the BBC (14).
