AwesomenessTV Opens London Offices, Names 2 New Hires

AwesomenessTV has opened up a London office in a bid to accelerate European growth, and announced two new hires: Zachary Slatter, formerly of NBCUniversal, has been named head of European distribution, while Mark Joseph, a Red Bull Media House veteran, will serve as managing director, Europe.

“AwesomenessTV is leading the charge in engaging and entertaining Generation Z, and we have made it our priority to reach them globally,” the company, which operates a distribution and production partnership with U.K. media giant ITV, said in a statement.

Slatter, who will be focused on developing additional partnerships with European linear networks, and SVOD and OTT platforms, will report to Rebecca Glashow, AwesomenessTV’s head of worldwide distribution. Joseph will be tasked with growing the Awesomeness brand among Gen Z audiences across Europe. He will develop original content for social video platforms and forge brand partnerships, reporting to Awesomeness’ chief digital officer Kelly Day

Slatter, who will be based out of the company’s London headquarters, previously served as VP of international new media, EMEA, on NBCUniversal’s digital distribution team. Joseph, who will also be based in London, spent six years at Red Bull Media House, and, prior to that, worked for Ericsson, where he helped reposition the company toward the media sector.

The new hires arrive as AwesomenessTV’s co-founder and CEO, Brian Robbins, announced last month that he was stepping down from his post to pursue other ventures. President Brett Bouttier will continue to lead the company, and he is currently seeking a new creative partner to help him co-pilot the ship.
