Description: In the first five episodes of Reckless Juliets, a web series from creator Skyler Barrett, viewers met a quartet of young protagonists who are navigating the ins and outs of their high school life. Now, with help from Indiegogo backers, Barret wants to tell the rest of her first-season story.

The ringleader of the Reckless Juliets crew is Carmody (Britni Raine), a woman whose life is beset by tragedy. As she comes to grips with the developments within her life, her relationships with her friends become more complex. The themes explored by the series, as laid out on its Indiegogo page, include “mental heath, body positivity, suicide awareness, teen rebellion, LGBTQ representation, and most importantly, the complexity of women and their friendships with one another.”

Five episodes of Reckless Juliets have already been released, and five more are planned. Additional details are available in the project’s pitch video.

Creator Bio: Barrett has worked in the casting department for more than two dozen projects, including the legendary Sharknado.

Best Perk: A $15 contribution will get you a selfie from the cast member of your choice, for that added layer of high school authenticity.

Why You Should Fund It: The first season episodes of Reckless Juliets that have already arrived on YouTube are of top-notch quality. While it is a show about high school students, it is decidedly mature, both in terms of the way it portrays its characters and the skillful manner in which its slow-burning scenes are shot. Reckless Juliets has turned enough heads to be included in at least six festival lineups, and it certainly deserves to tell the rest of its story. You can help make that happen.
