NFL Star Rob Gronkowski Takes ‘Shark Tank’ Setup To Go90 With ‘MVP’

New England Patriots star Rob “Gronk” Gronkowski is getting ready to compete in his second Super Bowl. Meanwhile, on the mobile video app Go90, he is involved in a different type of entertainment. He is one of the producers and stars of MVP, a series that combines the format of Shark Tank with the appeal of star athletes.

MVP, in its Go90 context, stands for Most Valuable Partner, and it gives star athletes the opportunity to listen to pitches, evaluate them, and endorse the best ones. If that sounds a lot like Shark Tank, that’s because it is; as the MVP teaser indicates, the show’s design resembles ABC’s popular reality program. The main difference between the two is the presence of the people on MVP’s panel; beyond Gronk, other cast members include Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers (who Gronk’s Patriots recently vanquished in the NFL playoffs) and NBA superstar Kevin Durant.

Go90 was recently beset by major layoffs that will reportedly lead to a new structure for the video platform, but even so, it continues to churn out content. Its sports shows have been some of its best, and since Gronk es fiesta, I expect more fun from MVP, which is now available on Go90’s website as well as its iOS or Android apps.
