Following a seven-day countdown on his YouTube channel, the vlogger-entrepreneur Connor Franta has announced his second book, titled Note To Self, which is available for preorder today and officially hits shelves on April 18.
“I’ve been working in secret on this book for well over a year now and I am beyond thrilled with how it turned out,” Franta wrote of the endeavor on YouTube. It will comprise essays, stories, poetry, and photography covering a range of issues including clinical depression, social anxiety, breakups, and self-love. “I share a part of me I rarely show to…well, anyone. I’m not going to lie, it’s a very emotional read, and manages to fill a spectrum of colors.”
A trailer for the book — whose cover is soft pink and features an image of a rose — sees Franta pacing through various abandoned and picturesque scenes, waxing poetic about privacy, love, vulnerability — and, of course, drinking coffee. “If my first book, A Work In Progress, was a reflection of my external life thus far, this follow-up is a reflection of my internal life right now.” Check out the video below:
Note To Self, like A Work In Progress — which hit no. 8 on the New York Times Best Seller list — is being published by Keywords Press, a Simon & Schuster imprint focused on digital celebrities that has also published books by the likes of Joey Graceffa, Justine Ezarik, and Shane Dawson. You can preorder a copy of Note To Self, which is priced at $24 for a hardcover, right here.
Most recently, Franta launched his Common Culture lifestyle brand at Urban Outfitters with a limited edition apparel range. Common Culture also comprises a music label imprint called Heard Well as well as a coffee subscription service.
