Top 50 Most Viewed U.S. YouTube Channels • Week Of 1/13/2017

It’s another installment of the weekly Tubefilter Chart of the Top 50 Most Viewed U.S. YouTube Channels and a toddler who’s really great at opening toys is in the top spot.

Chart Toppers

Ryan ToysReview held onto its first-place position on the U.S. chart for the twenty-second week in a row. The five-year-old toy unboxer’s channel shot up 53% in its weekly view count to top out at almost 218.3 million views on the week. In a distant second place is Toy Freaks. The heightened version of your regular ‘ole YouTube family vlog channel took home more that 133.4 million views throughout the week.

Not too far behind in the #3 spot is Shakira. The international pop star’s online video destination shot up 36% in views, closing out the week with over 124.1 million of them. Next up in fourth place is ToyScouter. The latest in a growing number of YouTube channels to find success in filming adults dressed up in superhero costumes acting out strange scenarios scored almost 123.1 million views during the seven-day time frame.

And rounding out the Top 5 is WWE. World Wrestling Entertainment’s home on YouTube ended the week up 59%, slamming down more than 122.3 million views.

Top Gainers

The honor of one of our Top Gainers this week goes to Freak Family Vlogs.

Freak Family Vlog is the second vlog-based channel of the very popular Toy Freaks YouTube channel that’s been hovering around the #2 and #3 spots on this chart for the past several weeks. While Toy Freaks is full of skits and playtime footage (often times exaggerated for dramatic effect), Freak Family Vlogs is all the behind-the-scenes shenanigans of the family of three (there’s the dad, plus his two daughters, Annabelle and Victoria) packed into one weekly video.

The latest installment – entitled “Bad Baby Giant Candy Taste Test Challenge” – performed better than the one from the week before, receiving a view count in the tens of millions and helping the channel as a whole to a 83% week-over-week increase in views, just about 52.5 million views on the week, and the #39 spot on the U.S. chart.

Channel Distribution

The top 50 most viewed U.S. YouTube channels this week amassed a total of 3,549,133,827 views. Here’s the distribution of a few of those channels by multi-channel network:

VEVO: 16 channels in the U.S. Top 50, with Shakira the top-ranked channel of the network at #3.
Studio71: 3 channels in the Top 50, with FamilyFunPack at #7.
BuzzFeed, Maker Studios, Movieclips: 2 channels each in the Top 50, with BuzzFeed’s BuzzFeed Video at #22, Maker’s FGTeeV at #15, and Movieclips’ Movieclips at #21.
