A journalist who gained national attention during the 2016 attention is working to play the world of reporters for laughs. Megyn Kelly is one of the executive producers behind Embeds, an upcoming comedy series that will be distributed on Go90 by Complex Networks’ Seriously.TV.
Embeds will follow six young reporters as they embed themselves in political campaigns on behalf of news organizations. The show’s six episodes, which are inspired by true events, will feature a collection of sitcom-style foibles while also shining light on the important work done by embedded journalists.
The show’s co-creators, Scott Conroy and Peter Hamby, wrote Embeds based on their own experiences, as they both served as embedded journalists during the 2008 presidential campaign. “While ‘Embeds’ takes a tongue-in- cheek view of the trail, it’s serious business ensuring that American citizens are informed and engaged in the political process,”The show turns a much needed spotlight on the crucial role that young, embedded reporters play on the campaign trail.”
Embeds will premiere on January 18, 2017 on Go90. Verizon’s mobile-first video platform is available for both iOS and Android.
