Vine star Lauren Giraldo is moving full speed ahead into the musical realm. The Miami native, who acted in the Vine original series Camp Unplug and is also set to produce a docuseries about Latino culture in South Florida, has announced today that she will release her first single on Jan. 27, with her debut EP to drop in mid-2017.
No further details about the song or EP were available, though Giraldo is embarking on an eight-city tour to promote the release next year across the United States and Canada. Tickets for The Lauren Giraldo Tour, which kicks off in San Francisco on Feb. 15 and concludes in New York City on March 7, are available here.
“I have waited so long to have the opportunity to release my own original music and have poured my heart and soul into creating it,” Giraldo said in a statement. “My single is so close to my heart, everything from the lyrics to the artwork is based on personal experiences and I can’t wait to share it.” In past months, Giraldo has released cover songs on her YouTube
channel — which counts roughly 400,000 subscribers — by artists like Rihanna, Ariana Grande, and Lana Del Rey.In addition to the aforementioned projects, Giraldo is also set to star in a Fullscreen series next month titled Lady Bits With Lauren Giraldo, which centers on women’s rights and gender equality. She also hosts an AwesomenessTV-produced clip show for Verizon’s go90 mobile video platform called Lauren Against The Internet. Giraldo is represented by Scale Management, WME, and SGSBC.
