Marcus Butler, Alfie Deyes, And Joe Sugg To Appear On Hit U.K. Game Show

Three of YouTube’s most beloved British heartthrobs are set to star in one of the country’s most popular reality series. Marcus ButlerAlfie Deyes, and Joe Sugg have all been cast in next season’s celebrity edition of Release The Hounds, reports Radio Times.

The horror game show, which airs on ITV, drops contestants into a forest where they must then endure scary challenges in order to win cash. The ultimate challenge, according to the show, is to outrun a pack of vicious dogs trained to guard the prizes. Debuting next year, the celebrity edition of the series, dubbed Release The Hounds: Famous And Freaked, will pit YouTube’s finest against British reality stars from popular shows like The Only Way Is Essex and I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

Release The Hounds, which originally premiered in 2013, is hosted by the British actor and presenter Reggie Yates.

Between the three of them, Butler, Deyes, and Sugg — each of whom has three YouTube channels apiece — count roughly 30 million subscribers. And each has pursued successful ventures offline as well, including Sugg’s graphic novels and direct-to-DVD projects, Deyes’ Pointless Book, and Butler’s recently announced music management company, Stripped Bear Entertainment.

They’re not the only YouTube-bred stars to appear on a popular British reality series. Zoe Sugg, Joe Sugg’s brother and Deyes’ girlfriend — and a YouTube goliath in her own right with roughly 16 million subscribers across two lifestyle channels — appeared on BBC’s The Great Comic Relief Bake Off in 2015 — a charity spin-off of The Great British Bake Off, which is one of the country’s most popular shows.
