Machinima Continues To Beef Up Its Content Team With Two Additional Hires

Machinima has tapped two new content executives to bolster viewership and engagement, the gamer-centric video network announced today. Industry veterans Gary King and Dave Pullano will both join the company as co-directors of development, reporting to Machinima’s SVP of programming and editor-in-chief Jason Dimberg.

King and Pullano will be tasked with developing shows for the multiple platforms on which Machinima distributes content, according to a release, as well as in conjunction with its marketing, production, and talent teams. Machinima first announced that it was beefing up its content division in May with the appointment of Dimberg, a former Yahoo exec, to the newly-created editor-in-chief role. At the same time, the company promoted head of production Dave Shikiar to SVP of production.

King previously served as manager of alternative programming and new media content at Disney/ABC Cable Networks Group, where he oversaw unscripted shows and scripted shorts and specials for the Disney Channel and Disney XD. Before that, he worked at the digital network YOMYOMF, founded by famed movie director Justin Lin.

Pullano has spent the past year as a consulting showrunner and executive producer at Machinima, where he wrote, developed, and produced scripted series including The Bacca Chronicles and Machinima’s forthcoming Happy Wheels series starring CaptainSparklez and Brizzy Voices. Prior to Machinima, Pullano served as senior creative executive at French indie media company Zodiak, and as an EP, writer, and director at E! Entertainment.

Machinima, which calls itself a many-to-many programmer of all things fandom and gamer culture, says its thousands of creators reach 150 million viewers every month.
