It’s another installment of the weekly Tubefilter Chart of the Top 50 Most Viewed YouTube Channels Worldwide and an Indian music label and movie studio is still in the top spot.

Chart Toppers
T-Series held onto its first-place position on the worldwide chart for the third week in a row. India’s self-proclaimed largest music label and movie studio was down 2% to score nearly 138.7 million views on the week. Kinda close behind is netd müzik. Turkey’s very own music conglomerate stayed relatively constant in its view count with more than 122.7 million views during the seven-day timeframe.
Dipping down to the #3 spot is Ryan ToysReview. Four-year-old Ryan’s YouTube channel full of his playtime footage dipped 3% to end the week with more than 122 million views. Next up in fourth place is WWE. World Wrestling Entertainment’s home on YouTube closed out the week north of 108.7 million views.
And rounding out the Top 5 is Toy Freaks. The family-friendly channel composed of dramatic family-vlog-style uploads was down 10% to bottom out at a still very impressive nearly 104.3 million views during the week.
Top Gainers
One of our Top Gainers this week is Juan Gabriel, but it’s for a very sad and unfortunate reason.
Alberto Aguilera Valadez was better known by his stage name Juan Gabriel. He was a Mexican singer and songwriter and one of Latin America’s best-selling artists of all-time, having sold over an aggregate 100 million copies of his 18 studios albums worldwide. And on August 28, 2016, he died suddenly at his home in Santa Monica, California from natural causes while in the midst of a U.S. tour at the age of 66.
News of his death quickly spread across social media, and as we’ve seen in the past fans flocked to Gabriel’s YouTube channel to pay their respects to the late star and gain some solace with the sounds and sights from his music videos. The increased interest caused Gabriel’s channel to see a 473% week-over-week increase in views, more than 94.4 million views on the week, and the #7 spot on the worldwide chart.
Channel Distribution
The top 50 most viewed YouTube channels worldwide this week amassed a total of 3,319,338, 520 views. Here’s the distribution of a few of those channels by multi-channel network:
VEVO: 11 channels in the U.S. Top 50, with Juan Gabriel the highest-ranked channel of the network at #8.
Maker Studios, Studio71: 3 channels each in the Top 50, with Maker’s TheDiamondMinecart at #22 and Studio71’s Webs & Tiaras – Toy Monster Compilations at #6.
BuzzFeed, XMediaDigital: 2 channels in the Top 50, with BuzzFeed’s BuzzFeed Video at #15 and XMediaDigital’s mashamedvedtv at #17.
And here’s the distribution of the this week’s Top 50 YouTube channels by country of origin:
United States: 23 channels in the Top 50.
India: 5 channels in the Top 50.
Canada, Thailand: 3 channels in the Top 50.
Argentina, Great Britain, Russia: 2 channels each in the Top 50.
Ireland, Jamaica, Mexico, Netherlands, Philippines, South Korea, Turkey, Ukraine, Vietnam: 1 channel each in the Top 50.
