It’s another installment of the Top 100 Most Subscribed YouTube Channels Worldwide and an old favorite is back up in the #1 spot.

Chart Toppers
After a brief hiatus, PewDiePie is back up in the #1 spot on the Most Subscribed YouTube channels chart. The YouTube home of the Let’s Play antics and increasingly regular vlogs from Felix Kjellberg shot up 23% in its monthly subscriber acquisition rate to add almost 1.2 million members to Pewd’s Bro Army in the month. In a not-so-distant second places is MoreAliA. The second channel of the already very popular British gamer AliA (at which he plays a variety of games you won’t find on the first channel) scored more than 1 million new subscribers in July.
Brazilian vlogger Whinderssonnunes is next up in third place, closing out the month up 27% with just slightly more than 1 million new subs. In the #4 spot is Roman Atwood Vlogs. The family vlog channel of the very popular YouTube prank artist added just about 991,000 subscribers throughout the month.
And rounding out the Top 5 is Fernanfloo. The El Salvadorian gamer amassed almost 946,000 subscribers in the 31 days of the month.
Top Gainers
The honor of one of our our Top Gainers this month goes to The Rock.
Dwayne Johnson’s shiny new YouTube home wasted no time in racking up a a sizable subscriber count. The channel debuted its first trailer video on June 23, 2016. And thanks to regularly scheduled programming peppered with a variety of YouTube all-stars, it attracted a LOT of subscribers in the following month. The Rock’s channel saw a 890% month-over-month increase in its subscriber-acquisition rate and more than 893,000 new subs to claim the #6 spot on the worldwide chart.
Channel Distribution
The Top 100 Most Subscribed YouTube channels in the month amassed in aggregate a total of 48,723,731 new subscribers. Here’s a look at the distribution of a few of those channels broken down by the most-represented YouTube Multi-Channel Networks on the chart:
Maker Studios: 15 channels in the Top 100 Most Subscribed, with PewDiePie at #1.
VEVO: 12 channelsin the Top 100 Most Subscribed, with Justin Bieber at #13.
Studio71: 9 channels in the Top 100, with Roman Atwood Vlogs at #4.
BroadbandTV: 8 channels in the Top 100, with Fernanfloo at #5.
Fullscreen: 6 channels in the Top 100, with whinderssonnunes at #3.
Machinima, Stylehaul: 3 channels each in the top 100, with Machinima’s JuegaGerman at #32 and StyleHaul’s MamaMiaMakeup at #51.
Divimove, OmniaMediaCo, VSP Group: 2 channels each in the top 100, with Divimove’s NikkieTutorials at #10, Omnia’s LeafyIsHere at #18, and VSP Group’s RED21 at #54.
AwesomenessTV, Divimove, Fremantle, WMG, XMediaDigital: 2 channels in the Top 100, with AwesomenessTV’s Alex Aiono at #25, Divimove’s elrubiusOMG at #26, Fremantle’s America’s Got Talent at #15, WMG’s Coldplay at #72, and XMediaDigital’s Get Movies at #51.
