New Form Digital is bringing a heavy beat to Go90. The studio known for digital productions led by social media stars has announced Pulse, an “EDM musical” that will arrive on Verizon’s mobile video platform.
The star of Pulse will be Kate Findlay, who is best known for appearing on the AMC/Netflix drama The Killing. In her latest role, Findlay will portray Hannah Cooper, who takes in Berlin’s dance scene alongside her fellow American expats. In keeping with New Form’s mission to promote digital-native content creators, Pulse’s cast will include a pair of guest stars known for their online video work: Meg DeAngelis and Epic Meal Time‘s Harley Morenstein.
Pulse is an interesting project for New Form because it was not incubated through the studio’s pilot process. Instead, it is being brought straight to Go90, where it will join other New Form productions like The Fourth Door and RePlay. In total, New Form plans to produce at least six programs for Go90, thanks to a September 2015 deal between the two companies.
“Pulse is a very special series that required just the right cast to bring it to life,” said Melissa Schneider, New Form Digital’s SVP of Development and Production, in a press release. “Katie is the perfect actor for the role of Cooper and she, along with the ensemble cast, will make [creator Kyle Jarrow and composer Duncan Sheik]’s vision a reality.”
The first season of Pulse will consist of 12 episodes. The series is expected to premiere sometime in the fall.
