Comedian Chris Gethard Is Bringing His Interactive Fusion Talk Show To Facebook Live

As more media brands dogpile onto Facebook Live, Fusion is set to bring its Chris Gethard Show to the platform every Thursday evening.

The interactive talk show, which formerly aired exclusively on Fusion, premiered on Facebook on April 12 at 8 p.m. ET featuring guest Lena Dunham, The Hollywood Reporter reports. The Chris Gethard Show is produced by Funny or Die alongside Fusion, with Zack Galifianakis and Will Ferrell serving as executive producers.

In order to get multiple camera angles during the live broadcast, the show has teamed with real-time tech company Telescope, according to the Reporter. Fans will be able to interact in a chatroom and call in to the show via Skype, though Telescope will integrate comments in real-time and also enable the show to host polls.

“We’re always happy to take chances and push things further into the 21st century,” Gethard told the Reporter, “and this technology gives us another chance to connect one-on-one with the fans who make our show great.”

Facebook Live is rumored to be paying publishers like BuzzFeed and The New York Times who commit to using the platform regularly. (BuzzFeed, in particular, seems to have mastered the medium relatively quickly.) Last week, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg also announced several new features for Live, including new search functions, and also hinted at forthcoming monetization opportunities.
