Troye Sivan Talks Shellfish Allergy, Helping A Fan Come Out Onstage On ‘Late Late Show’

Troye Sivan has performed on his fair share of talk shows, but the 20-year-old made his way to the couch for the very first time last night with Late Late Show host James Corden — who’s not doing so shabby on YouTube lately himself.

Sivan discussed everything from how he celebrated when single ‘Youth’ hit number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 — “I got sushi. I’m allergic to shellfish and I just, like, had some anyway” — to how he helped a fan come out to her mother at one of his recent concerts.

In the midst of his Washington, D.C. set earlier this month, a fan in the front row frantically passed Sivan a note that said, ‘Please read this aloud. Kelly is bisexual. (My mom is in the audience)’, Sivan recounted. After some deliberation, he made the announcement, and “the crowd went absolutely ballistic,” he said. After the show, Kelly and her mother had a touching reunion.

While many of Sivan’s fans were clamoring for him to participate in Corden’s wildly viral Carpool Karaoke series when he initially announced he would appear on the show, that didn’t transpire — yet. Sivan did, however, participate in a sketch with Corden poking fun at his uber-popular ‘Youth’ music video. Check it out below:
