Three-year-old Streamup has cut the ribbon on a brand new creator studio based in downtown Los Angeles, according to sources. The space is accessible to Streamup talent for free and is intended to help broadcasters bolster their content and collaborate. Dubbed the Streamup Penthouse Studio HQ, the 5,000 square-foot facility also features a 4,000-square-foot outside deck. It will house livestreaming cameras, lighting, projection screens, software equipment, and even a telepresence Double Robot (an iPad attached to a mini-segway of sorts).
Tutorials will also be offered to help users master Streamup’s signature in-app tools — including special effects, graphic overlays, ticker tape, as well as multi-camera functionalities. Streamup star Andy Milonakis, for instance, has already shot his live cooking show at the space.
In addition to these new efforts to support its creator roster, which include lesbian power duo Bria And Chrissy and prankster Ed Bassmaster, sources say Streamup co-founder and president Will Keenan has made a rather staggering pledge.

Keenan will try his hand in front of the camera, going live 24 hours a day, seven days a week, beginning Easter Sunday. While broadcasting around-the-clock may sound like a tall order for a leading digital media executive at such a crucial time in his company’s life cycle, the move aims to reflect Keenan’s belief in transparency, sources say. In addition to Keenan himself, the channel will also feature other live programming.
Streamup says it’s the fastest-growing streaming platform in the world, with more than 20 million monthly users who generate 310 years of watch time every month. (Periscope, by comparison, last reported 10 million users in August 2015.) Founded by CEO Kyle Michelson in 2013, the beta Streamup app is currently available on iOS. The company has raised $250,000 in seed funding, and earlier this week was announced as one of the 60 startups to launch at Winter Demo Day for Y-Combinator — a startup incubator that typically invests $120,000 in a highly select group of tech companies for a 7% stake.
