Chelsea Handler Divulges Details About Netflix Talk Show In Handwritten Letter To Herself

Chelsea Handler’s much-anticipated Netflix talk show may not have a name yet, but the comedian announced its premiere date and schedule this morning in a note dripping with her signature snarkiness.

“If you’re thinking about having a baby — DON’T,” wrote Handler in a letter to herself on Twitter, noting that the 30-minute show would premiere on May 11 and run every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday without commercials. Once posted, she added, the episodes will live on Netflix permanently.

While not much is known about the streaming giant’s first talk show and first recurring series to be released over time, in the letter, Handler describes “traveling around the world and learning new things” as well as “interviewing respected public figures.” She says her dream guest list includes Michelle Obama, the Pope, and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s maid. “P.S. It’s an election year,” Handler concludes. “Good timing, girl.”

Handler previously described the series as 60 Minutes — but “faster, quicker, cooler,” with correspondents going out into the field.

She is currently soliciting names for the show — top contenders thus far include ‘Chelsea & Chill’ and ‘Chelsea, Based On The Novel Push By Sapphire.’ Handler will also be hosting a Q&A about the show tomorrow morning on Twitter.

Handler’s deal with Netflix included the 2014 standup special ‘Uganda Be Kidding Me’ and a four-part docu-series entitled ‘Chelsea Does,’ covering topics like drugs, racism, marriage and Silicon Valley, which premiered earlier this year.
