TruTV has announced a new late-night program, and the list of companies involved in its production includes a number of studios known for their digital work. The cable channel will air a collection of short comedy segments in Late Night Snack, which will include contributions from Above Average, Maker Studios, Tripp & Tyler, and several others.
Late Night Snack, which has been picked up for a full season of ten half-hour episodes, will include at least a dozen segments, each of which will feature its own style and creative team. Above Average, the digital network run by Saturday Night Live producer Broadway Video, will adapt its program Alec Baldwin’s Love Ride as part of the Late Night Snack slate. It will also team with Two Trick Pony for Cocktales with Little Esther, a talk show segment about sex. Tripp & Tyler, a sketch comedy duo partnered with Above Average, will have their own spot in the Late Night Snack
lineup thanks to a sketch series called Don’t Be That Guy.Maker Studios’ presence within the Late Night Snack agenda comes in the form of Hope and Randy, its own collaboration with Two Trick Pony. The comedy series will follow two 24-year olds as they explore their first ever serious romantic relationship.
Moreso than most other TV channels, TruTV has been eager to work with digital content creators. It partnered with The Fine Bros for a show called Six Degrees of Everything and teamed up with CollegeHumor for a TV version of Adam Ruins Everything, which was recently renewed for a second season.
Late Night Snack will premiere on March 3rd at 11 PM EST. More information about the show and its segments can be found over at Variety.
