Streamup Signs Exclusive Deal With Prankster Ed Bassmaster (Exclusive)

As it continues to bolster its original content library, Streamup has teamed up with another creator known for his work on YouTube. The streaming video platform has announced an exclusive streaming deal with Ed Bassmaster, whose prank videos have accrued more than 520 million total views.

Bassmaster is one of the veterans within the Internet’s prank scene. He has been making videos on YouTube since 2006, and over the past decade he has attracted a passionate following of more than two million subscribers. He continues to entertain those fans with regular videos, which often involve costumes or impressions. Here’s his latest stunt, in which he pretended to be a creepy janitor:

On Streamup, Bassmaster plans to perform a number of “live pranks,” but he’ll also use the up-and-coming streaming platform as a place where he can hang out with his friends and fans in real time. “We’ll definitely be causing some trouble,” he stated in a press release.

The deal with Bassmaster is the latest in a wave of content-related announcements from Streamup. In February, the platform also revealed a deal with YouTube duo BriaAndChrissy as well as a full slate of original programming. In search for content partners, Streamup President Will Keenan has turned to many creators he has worked with before, and Bassmaster is no exception: The prankster is partnered with Maker Studios, where Keenan worked for two years between 2011 and 2013.

“For years, I’ve been a fan of Ed’s, he’s one of the funniest, most talented and courageous content creators in the entire online world,” said Keenan in a press release. “On top of all that, Ed’s a really beautiful man, salt-of-the-earth type. I’m more than excited to see what Ed comes up with as he continues to troll the globe and make us all laugh on Streamup.”

Streamup claims to have more than 20 million monthly active users, who collectively contribute more than 310 years of watch time every month.
