YouTube Brings Back Its Super Bowl AdBlitz For Eighth Straight Year

During Super Bowl L on February 7th, advertisers will bombard millions of viewers with another round of high-profile, high-budget spots. If you won’t be able to watch those commercials live (or if, like me, you’re more interested in the game), take note that YouTube will once again serve as the pre- and post-game gathering place for all the Super Bowl ads. For the eighth year in a row, the video site has launched its AdBlitz hub, where visitors can watch, share, and rank the branded videos from the Big Game.

As has become the norm (whether we like it or not), ads will start rolling onto the AdBlitz homepage days before February 7th. In a press release, YouTube noted that 37% of last year’s Super Bowl ad video views came before the game. The most-viewed ad from 2015’s crop, Budweiser’s ‘Lost Dog,’ arrived online five days before it aired on TV.

In recent years, YouTube has bolstered its Super Bowl presence with auxiliary videos from members of its creative community, and 2015 will be no different. In the week before the game, AdBlitz will host a series called “How To Win Game Day,” which will be hosted by Jake and Amir and will feature Flula as its “band leader.” Jake and Amir introduced the series in a teaser on the AdBlitz channel:

After the game, AdBlitz will once again give viewers a chance to decide their favorite ads from among this year’s library. Voting will open once the game ends and will continue until 11:59 PM EST on February 10th.
