Description: A young woman who hopes to make it as an actress and creator is looking to tell her story, and the story of many others. Blu Hunt is the creative force behind This Is It, a drama web series currently seeking funds on Kickstarter.

Hunt will star as a young woman who, at least within the pitch video, shows a propensity to sleep in, lie in bed, and wax poetic about fate, dreams, and other heady subjects. In general, it is easy to characterize This Is It as a “hipster” web series, given the indie music in its pitch video and the Polaroids that inhabit its Kickstarter page.

At the same time, Hunt and her team have a clear vision for the sort of series they want to create. Honest and contemplative, the show captures what it’s like to take the first steps into adulthood in a city where everybody seems to see right through you,” reads the project’s Kickstarter description.

Creator Bio: Hunt is a young actress and creator who hails from Sacramento. She describes This Is It as “An extremley [sic] personal series.”

Best Perk: The $100-level package includes a number of items, including a prop from the set. One of the options is a record, furthering This Is It’s hip appeal.

Why You Should Fund It: Given its focus on young people striving to make room for themselves in the competitive world of creative people in the big city, This Is It initially seems like the sort of project we’ve seen many times before. Hunt, however, seems poised to distinguish herself by conjuring up a vivid look for her series. This Is It feels like it will be elegant, bright, and contemplative, and those are descriptors that cannot apply to the majority of “young person in Los Angeles” stories. It is close to reaching its funding goal, and when it does, we will get to see how Hunt’s vision plays out on screen.
