TruTV Picks Up New Episodes Of ‘Adam Ruins Everything,’ ‘Billy On The Street’

TruTV has renewed a pair of programs that both began on the web. The cable TV channel has ordered new episodes of CollegeHumor’s Adam Ruins Everything and has picked up a fifth season of Funny or Die’s street-side talk show Billy on the Street.

Adam Ruins Everything began as a series of YouTube clips. Host Adam Conover’s comedic rants, which highlight under-reported issues that stem from common situations, gained millions of views on CollegeHumor’s YouTube channel before coming to TruTV for a 12-episode run that arrived in 2015. Through the Big Breakfast production studio, CollegeHumor will create 14 more Adam Ruins Everything TV episodes, which will air in “mid-2016.”

Embolden by the success it has seen with Adam Ruins Everything, TruTV has also announced a new project created in partnership with Big Breakfast. It has given a pilot order to No Dumb Questions, in which host Emily Axford will figure out the answer to unusual queries. “If you’ve ever wondered if you could flush a whole chocolate cake down a toilet, No Dumb Questions is for you,” reads a press release from TruTV.”

Billy on the Street, which follows host Billy Eichner as he races around the streets of New York City and pops random passersby with unexpected questions, is inspired by videos Eichner created in the mid-2000s. After airing for three seasons on Fuse, the series moved to TruTV for its fourth season, which produced plenty of well-trafficked clips. A Christmas segment featuring Will Ferrell has racked up more than 1.3 million views on YouTube.

The fifth season of Billy on the Street will include ten episodes and will premiere in “late 2016.”
