YouTube Gaming Stars Get Their Own Flash Drive And Headphone Designs

Across various merchandising tie-ins, YouTube stars have brought their personal brands to everything from socks to throw pillows to nail art designs. In the near future, Canadian company Hipstreet will unveil another set of unusual YouTube-related products: It will roll out a line of headphones, USB flash drives, and other gaming-related products designed by online video stars.

In order to find the right influencers for its upcoming line, Hipstreet partnered with Blackshore, an agency that works with top gaming stars on YouTube. The list of creators Blackshore represents includes TheBajanCanadian, JeromeASF, PrestonPlayz, Vikkstar123HD, Lachlan, and MrWoofless, all of whom have more than one million subscribers on their respective channels.

Hipstreet will use the likenesses of the participating YouTube stars as models for a line of USB drives that, according to a press release, will be “designed to look and play like action figures but with the added utility of a working USB drive.” Both the USB drives and Hipstreet’s headphone designs will appeal to viewers who want to represent their favorite content creators within their own gaming setup.

Hipstreet, based in the Toronto area, sells electronics across a variety of categories .”Hipstreet is proud to enter into this exclusive partnership with blackshore and some of the biggest digital stars in the world,” said Moe Kirpalani, the company’s President and CEO, in a press release. “With Hipstreet’s design and quality leadership combined with the recognized brand power of these stars we are excited to be able to bring some fantastic products to market together.”

The first products from Hipstreet’s digital video line will launch in Q1 2016, with more rolling out across the rest of year.
