Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla, whose Smosh channel has more than 20 million subscribers, are not just two of YouTube’s biggest stars; they’re also two of the video site’s most marketable personalities. In the past two years alone, the Smosh brand has been extended to cover a wealth of off-YouTube projects, including a magazine, a video game, a pair of wax figures, and an upcoming movie, which will premiere at VidCon on July 23rd.
Now, there’s another extension of the Smosh brand in the works, and it will bring the comedy duo to bookstores and other retailers during the holiday season. Defy Media, which owns and operates the Smosh channel, has teamed up with Dynamite Entertainment for a series of comic books and graphic novels expected to arrive later in 2015.
