Kit Kat Invites Snackers To Break Off A Piece Of YouTube

As part of its latest promotion, Kit Kat is mixing up the language on its wrappers, and hundreds of thousands of candy bars will invite consumers to take a “YouTube break.” Kit Kat has teamed up with with Google for a promotion that ties into branded videos and playlists on YouTube.

According to The Irish Mirror, as many as 600,000 Kit Kat bars will feature the slogan “YouTube break,” with the hashtag #mybreak etched onto the surface of each chocolate-covered wafer. In addition, Kit Kat will direct its consumers to YouTube, where it is sponsoring a number of videos and playlists. Most recently, YouTube star Marcus Butler appeared on the Kit Kat channel to explain the #mybreak promotion:

A link in the description of that video directs viewers to a playlist that includes a number of recent trending videos. YouTube will regularly refresh the playlist so that it includes the site’s top trending videos.

Other videos on the Kit Kat YouTube channel include a pair of videos in which YouTube content creators Patrick Boivin and Jack & Dean imagine their ideal breaks.

In total, Kit Kat will promote 72 different “breaks” across more than 100 million candy bars.
