Netflix Premieres Trailer For ‘Sense8’, The Wachowskis’ Sci-Fi Thriller

For more than two years, Andy and Lana Wachowski have been working on Sense8, a sci-fi thriller set to premiere June 12th on Netflix. Ahead of that date, the streaming video platform has dropped a trailer for the series that gives viewers a taste of the thrills to come.

Judging from the trailer, Sense8 shares plenty in common with The Wachowskis’ previous projects. The sibling duo rose to fame for directing The Matrix, and Sense8 appears to share that film’s splendid fight choreography and “free your mind” attitude. Its plot, which revolves around eight people who all have access to each others’ minds, returns to the theme of metaphysical connection The Wachowskis explored in their film Cloud Atlas

. One of that film’s stars, Doona Bae, also portrays one of Sense8’s main characters.

When Sense8 arrives on Netflix, it will become the streaming platform’s first original sci-fi series. While Netflix has seen mixed results with its other thrillers, Sense8’s trailer has already generated plenty of buzz online. Check in June 12th to see if it lives up to expectations.
