Food Network is bringing back its Star Salvation web series. The digital companion to the Food Network Star reality competition TV show, premiering for an 11th season this summer, will debut on FoodNetwork.com on June 28, 2015.
Star Salvation lets eliminated contestants from Food Network Star prove their worth for one last chance to re-enter the competition on the linear television show’s second-to-last episode on August 9. This makes the series similar to the Top Chef: Last Chance Kitchen series Bravo network runs alongside the linear TV show Top Chef. All six episodes of Star Salvation are hosted by Iron Chef’s Alex Guarnaschelli and former Food Network Star winner Jeff Mauro.
In addition to previous work on Star Salvation, Food Network has some experience connecting the online video world to its flagship Star competition show. For season ten, the network brought Star competitors to YouTube Space LA, where digital celebrity Shay Carl helped the contestants make viral video ads for Hershey’s brands like Reese’s and Almond Joy.
The first episode of the newest season of Star Salvation will debut on FoodNetwork.com on June 28, after Food Network Star’s linear airing at 9 PM EST.
