Zach King’s Vine Videos Go Long-Form With Red Bull

On Vine, Zach King‘s videos wow viewers with their brilliant visual trickery. The “Final Cut King” has more than 750 million loops on the Twitter-owned video service, but his brilliance also extends far beyond six seconds. For his latest trick, he teamed up with Red Bull to create his own computer-assisted version of a Rube Goldberg machine.

The video in question is titled “How Zach King Makes A Vine,” and it can be found on Red Bull’s hugely popular YouTube channel, which has more than 4.1 million subscribers and over a billion views. The 95-second begins with King cracking open a Red Bell and ends with a pen pressing his iPhone screen, thus allowing him to record his Vine. The rest of the video features a involved contraption whose mechanics are aided by King’s special effects wizardry.

In order to get the word out about the collaboration, King posted a 15-second trailer on his Instagram and Facebook pages. Viewers who follow the trailer to a link in King’s Instagram profile will find an interview he did with Red Bull, which in turn leads to the video itself. Clearly, within this project, there’s most than one type of chain reaction going on.

King is no stranger to branded content. He’s created Vines for everyone from Microsoft to Pringles, and he was also a “captain” for Friskies’ annual cat video contest. His collaboration with Red Bull a lot of fun, and it’s a perfect fit for the drinks brand’s channel, which for years has showcased a blend of exciting, audacious content.
