Nerdist Plans TV Version Of Its News Series For SyFy

Each weekday, Nerdist provides its viewers with a complement of sci-fi, fantasy, technology, and pop culture stories through Nerdist News, a show it first launched in November 2013. Now, with some help from SyFy, a TV pilot for Nerdist News is in the works.

The cable channel is developing the TV version of Nerdist News alongside Nerdist founder Chris Hardwick and Brandon Monk, the executive producer of Hardwick-hosted Talking Dead on AMC. While the host of the program is still a mystery, it is expected to take on the same subject matter as the web version of the show. We do not Hardwick himself, who also hosts @midnight on Comedy Central, will not himself be the host of Nerdist News

.

More details about the TV project can be found in the latest episode of Nerdist News, where host Jessica Chobot shares some information. “[The TV version] will feature everything you love about the show and so much more,” explains Chobot.

It’s worth noting that the TV version of Nerdist News will not replace the existing web series, which will continue to air five times a week on Nerdist’s website and YouTube channel.
