Veronica Belmont will soon interview the actors whose characters populate the continent of Westeros. On March 23, 2015, the online media personality will host a Facebook live stream for the season five red carpet premiere of HBO’s Game of Thrones.
Belmont will lead the stream, which will be broadcast live from San Francisco’s War Memorial Opera House. HBO will provide a never-released video featuring behind-the-scenes clips and footage from the upcoming Game of Thrones season. The network also says the majority of the show’s cast members will appear, including stars Emilia Clarke (who plays Daenerys Targaryen), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Gwendolyn Christie (Brienne of Tarth), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), and Maisie Williams (Arya Stark). Co-hosting the Facebook live stream alongside Belmont is Mara Raphael from HLN’s The Daily Share (a show which just hired What’s Trending’s Shira Lazar as a west coast contributor
).Belmont is an appropriate choice for the Game of Thrones red carpet stream, as she is no stranger to geek culture. Belmont currently co-hosts Sword & Laser, a science-fiction show that spans a Geek & Sundry show, a podcast, and a book club. Previously, she conducted BBC America’s pre-and-post-shows for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary (the pre-show was live streamed on YouTube.) Belmont was also a long-time co-host of Revision3’s tech news show Tekzilla.
You can catch Belmont’s Game of Thrones red carpet premiere live stream on the official Game of Thrones Facebook page. The stream runs from 9-10 PM EST on March 23.
