SoulPancake Takes Strangers Out Of Their Comfort Zones In “Never Would I Ever”

SoulPancake is serious about getting its viewers to try something new in their lives. The Rainn Wilson-founded production company partnered with Shout stain remover to offer three strangers a life-altering experience in the video “Never Would I Ever,” based on the popular “Never Have I Ever” party game.

“Never Would I Ever” follows scientist Emily, entrepreneur Alex, and hotel clerk Ashanti as they head off on adventures they would normally never dare to take themselves. First, the trio must paddle a canoe to a secret destination; upon arrival, they’re taught how to ride dirt bikes. Then, Emily, Alex, and Ashanti have to prepare a meal for 30 guests within two hours. Their day-long challenge is bookended with a dance-off between the three participants.

A SoulPancake release notes that the “Never Would I Ever” project was all about getting Emily, Alex, and Ashanti to “take a chance, leave their comfort zones, and find beauty in the messiness of life.” The philosophical angle of the challenge is quintessentially SoulPancake, which is well-known for its self-described “feel-good brain batter.” The production house previously partnered with Tidy cat litter brand on a similar project, where Los Angeles residents were given the chance to de-stress with kittens in a soundproof box.
