YouTube Star Bethany Mota Invests In BeautyCon

YouTube star Bethany Mota is a woman of many talents. At just 19 years old, she’s become a fashion expert, a Presidential interviewer, and a musician. Now, Mota can call herself an investor as well. She has taken stake in BeautyCon, a live event company that is looking to branch out from its roots.

Through BeautyCon, which has hosted or will host events in Los Angeles, New York, Dallas, and London, online content creators in the fashion, beauty, makeup, and style categories interact with their fans. Mota, who has 8.4 million subscribers on her YouTube channel, is one of BeautyCon’s most significant attendees. “I’ve seen up close that the BeautyCon team puts the fans first and creates the sense of home for me,” she said in a statement, “a place where I can feel comfortable to be myself and talk to the fans in a truly authentic way.”

The size of Mota’s investment was not disclosed, but the YouTube star will join forces with BeautyCon as it expands beyond its trademark live events. Most notably, it has announced a media site that will aggregate fashion and beauty content from around the Internet. “We are committed to making sure these content creators are around for a long time,” BeautyCon CEO Moj Mahdara told the Wall Street Journal. “Our job is to go into the marketplace and educate brands on how valuable those content creators are.”
