For the second year in a row, Fandango sent Marcus Johns to the Oscars, and once again, the Viner’s trip to the red carpet provided both charming and awkward moments. During his time at Hollywood’s Dolby Theater, Johns chatted with several prominent actors, directors, and musicians while also bothering many more.
Fandango gave Johns a microphone, set him loose on Hollywood, and collected his best moments in a video released on their Movieclips Trailers channel. Among other highlights, he took a selfie with Best Supporting Actor J.K. Simmons, sang “Everything Is Awesome” with nominees Tegan and Sara, and shook Clint Eastwood‘s hand, at which he exclaimed that he “can just die.” Along the way, several other celebrities decided not to give the young Vine star any attention. Simmons, who scored an Academy Award win for his role in Whiplash, wasn’t the only actor who took a selfie with Fandango’s red carpet correspondent. On his Instagram profile, Johns has shared pictures that feature Chris Pratt, John Stamos, and Ansel Elgort. Unsurprisingly, it is his selfie with the Fault in our Stars actor that has received the most likes from the young Instagram crowd.
Johns’ red carpet fun was just one part of Fandango’s big Oscars presence. The ticketing service also teamed with celebrity impersonator Lauren O’Brien, who offered some impressions of Oscar nominees accepting their awards.
Unfortunately, none of the actresses who O’Brien impersonated actually won any awards on Sunday. Thus begins the Great Lauren O’Brien Oscar Curse Of 2015.
