Refinery29 has made a move that will bolster its digital video efforts. According to Variety, the female-focused media company has hired former Vice Media exec Amy Emmerich as its new head of video.
Emmerich most recently served as VP of Programming for Scripps‘ ulive.com. Before that, she was VP of production and development at Vice Media. In her new role, she will lead the Refinery29 video team as it creates new original series and expands its programming slate.
“We are committed to expanding the platform in big ways this year under Amy’s leadership,” said Philippe von Borries, co-founder and co-CEO of Refinery29. “Her diverse experience developing award-winning storytelling for TV and digital as well as her ability to scale production and development teams, matched with her connections and expertise in working with top talent agents and distribution partners is core to achieving that mission.”
