Top 100 Most Viewed YouTube Channels Worldwide • December 2014

DisneyCollectorBR is still in the #1 spot this month with a massive view count. The internet’s premiere destination for videos of adults playing with children’s toys say a modest 8% uptick in views to top out at more than 415 million views on the month. And that was more than enough to solidify it’s place at the top of the charts ahead of Felix Kjellberg‘s PewDiePie channel. The twentysomething Swede’s online video repository of Let’s Play videos witnessed a 22% bump in views to end the month with nearly 392 million of them.

Taylor Swift is once again in third place. The country-turned-pop star’s music video library also saw a 22% increase in views on the month to close out December with over 359 million views. Next up is another music video channel, though its music targets a slightly younger demographic than Swift’s songs. LittleBabyBum and its collection of tunes from your childhood racked up almost 319 million views on the month, a 44% increase over the month prior.

And rounding out the Top 5 is the internet’s most beloved British gamer, Stamylonghead. The Minecraft and education aficionado scored just shy of 225 million views during the month.

Top Gainers

The honor of one our Top Gainers this month goes to LEGO.

Although the YouTube home of the Danish line of very popular construction toys didn’t have the highest percent increase in its monthly view count of all the channels on the chart, this is the first time the channel has cracked the Top 100 (and the first time for a channel from Denmark, too). YouTube.com/LEGO is home to a suprsingly prolific and incredibly diverse library of programming, from DIY projects, to product animations, to designer profiles of LEGO sets, to LEGO fun facts, and more. A 30% month-over-month increase in views gave the channel the boost it needed to claim the #96 spot on the charts with more than 74.9 million views in the 31 days of December.

Channel Distribution

The Top 100 Most Viewed YouTube channels this month amassed in aggregate a total of 13,236,226,982 views. Here’s a look at the distribution of those channels broken down by the most-represented YouTube Multi-Channel Networks on the chart:

• VEVO: 23 channels in the Top 100. Taylor Swift is the network’s highest ranking channel at #3.
• Maker Studios: 13 channels in the Top 100, with PewDiePie at #2.
• Disney, WMG, XMediaDigital: 3 channels each in the Top 100, with Disney’s Walt Disney Studios UK at #76, WMG’s Ed Sheeran at #42, and XMediaDigital’s GetMovies at #8.
• BuzzFeed, Fullscreen, Machinima, NBCU: 2 channels each in the Top 100, with BuzzFeed’s BuzzFeed video at #10, Fullscreen’s PopularMMOs at #15, Machinima’s VanossGaming at #19, and NBCU’s The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon at #30.

• The United States: 56 channels in the Top 100.
• Great Britain: 10 channels in the Top 100.
• Russia: 6 channels in the Top 100.
• Spain: 5 channels in the Top 100.
• India: 4 channels in the Top 100.
• Canada: 3 channels each in the Top 100.
• Japan, South Korea, Thailand: 2 channels each in the Top 100.
• Argentina, Australia, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, El Salvador, Ireland, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Sweden: 1 channel each in the Top 100.
