Joe Bereta Offers ‘Epic How To’ On Defy Media’s AWEme Channel

At the end of 2014, Joe Bereta left his gig at SourceFed in order to join Defy Media, where he has adopted the title of Creative Director. Two weeks after his arrival at Defy, Bereta has hosted his first video on the network. He is the narrator for Epic How To, a series that teaches viewers the easiest ways to accomplish extraordinary feats.

Epic How To lives on the AWEme channel, which is best known for hosting the Man At Arms series and has more than 2.6 million subscribers. In each episode, Bereta, accompanied by some typographic animations and an introduction from the Honest Trailers voice, will lead each viewer on a journey from anonymous nobody to accomplished pro.

The first installment takes on a timely subject by explaining the easiest way to win an Academy Award. This explanation involves short-subject documentaries, depressing subject matter, and catchy titles, and the video includes a link to the Oscars’ official entry form, just to let us know how serious Bereta is about his award-winning plan.

Bereta, who joined SourceFed in 2012, was one of the witty news series’ original hosts, along with Lee Newton and Elliott Morgan. Though he has departed that post, there is clearly no bad blood between him and his former colleagues; the official SourceFed account left a comment on the first Epic How To episode, as did fellow ex-host Morgan and current SourceFed personality William Haynes. Bereta and Screen Junkies also left some comments of their own; it’s really a party down there.

In case the whole Oscar thing doesn’t work out, Epic How To is also looking for more suggested subjects. If you have a good idea, Bereta instructs you to leave it in the comments.
