Producers Guild Of America Announces Digital Series Nominees For 2015

The Producer’s Guild of America (PGA) is getting ready for its 26th annual Producers Guild Awards. The organization just announced the nominees for both digital series and traditional television on December 1, 2014.

Among 2015’s Outstanding Digital Series nominees are some of the most popular web series from the past year. Crackle snagged a nomination for Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee (which just featured its first-ever YouTuber, Miranda Sings). The fan-favorite Epic Rap Battles of History is also in the running for best digital series, as is the third and final season of Freddie Wong’s explosively popular Video Game High School. ESPN’s 30 for 30 is also nominated along with COSMOS: A National Geographic Deeper Dive.

These web series join some of television’s hottest shows in the full lineup of nominees for 2015. Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey, True Detective, and House of Cards all hold spots in the drama category. Shows like The Big Bang Theory and Orange Is the New Black will contend for the honor of best comedy. You can see the full list of nominees on PGA’s website.
