SMWLA Preview: Disruptive Financial Companies Show Us The Money

Social Media Week Los Angeles will cover many different areas where technology is disrupting existing business models. One of those fields is finance, where opportunistic entrepreneurs are turning consumers into investors. Here at Tubefilter, we often cover interesting crowdfunding projects in the online video industry, and at SMWLA, a panel will expand that conversation.

The panel in question is titled “Mo Money, No Problems“, and it features a trio of panelists who work in different realms of the financial sector. Ben Katz‘s Card.com strives to change the way consumers use credit cards, Chance Barnett has brought investing to the masses with Crowdfunder, and William Quigley

has invested in tech companies like PayPal through his work at Clearstone Venture Partners. Their conversation will be moderated by Social Media Week founder Toby Daniels.

The “Mo Money, No Problems” event begins Tuesday, September 23rd at 10:30 AM at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica. If you’re interested in attending, you can get a ticket for Social Media Week Los Angeles here. Use the code TF20 for 20% off. You can also check out the full schedule of SMWLA events here.
