Nerdist Unveils Expansive Lineup Of New, Returning Fall Web Series

The Nerdist isn’t a company that likes to hold back on anything it’s passionate about. So it comes as no surprise that the company has announced scores of new web series titles for its fall lineup.

Revealed yesterday in a Nerdist blog post, several new web series will be introduced to viewers over the next few weeks. They will appear alongside returning fan-favorites like Nerdist News, Nerdist Play, and The Dan Cave.

Here’s a concise overview of each title, so you can be prepped and ready to hit “play” when your favorite selection(s) is uploaded to the web:

The Adventures of the Sweet Electric: Ever wonder what a robot band from the future would deal with on a daily basis as they travel the galaxy to perform their gigs? Now, you’ll be able to find out. Sweet Electric was created, written, directed by, and stars Liam Lynch; the show already premiered on Tuesday, September 2.

Just Cosplay: Premiering on September 5, this show will take viewers behind-the-scenes of many of their favorite cosplayers to see just exactly how they craft their creations.

Nerdist Presents: Arriving on September 10, this bi-monthly series will feature sketches, parodies, and other ridiculousness all focused on the pop culture topics viewers know and love (like Doctor Who and Game of Thrones).

Origin Story: Also cosplay/convention-based, Origin Story’s going to be an interactive show where Andrew Bowser of Monster Machine will bring a single character to life over a weekend using suggestions from the viewers. Origin

premieres October 24.

The Real Housewives of Horror: While not exactly a new title (the first episode was released last year in October), it appears this show will finally start running with more episodes sometime this fall. And it’s exactly what it sounds like: a parody on all those “reality” shows about rich wives, except these women are married to some killer monsters. Housewives of Horror is the brainchild of Brea Grant and Kevin Pereira.

Scott Ian’s Bloodworks: Special effects in horror are an art of their own, and this show is going to give you exclusive looks at how they’re done. Hosted by Scott Ian of the band Anthrax, Bloodworks hasn’t had a release date announced yet.

Along with these new shows, Nerdist will be releasing video podcasts showing fans the process and recording of their favorite Nerdist audio programs, a list that includes The Nerdist Podcast, The K-Ohle, and Jonah Raydio. The well-received series All Star Celebrity Bowling plans to return as well, but it’s moving from the web to AMC, which has picked it up for eight episodes.

Overall, Nerdist is promising viewers plenty of shows to choose from this fall. Being bored shouldn’t be an issue, but finding the time to watch them all could be tough.
