Top 50 Most Viewed U.S. YouTube Channels • Week Of 8/1/14

It’s another installment of the weekly Tubefilter Chart of the Top 50 Most Viewed U.S. YouTube Channels and a channel full of videos of adults playing with children’s toys is on top.

Chart Toppers

Once again this week, without any major viral video hits or music video releases, DisneyCollectorBR is on the top of the U.S. charts. The online video collection recently discovered by the mainstream media saw a 17% uptick in views to net out out at more than 69.6 million views in the last seven days.

Enrique Iglesias is up next in second place. The Spaniard’s mega hit “Bailando” is still racking up the hits three months after its release and helped Iglesias’ YouTube channel end the week with more than 44.1 million views on the week. Shakira is up next. The international pop star took a dip down to the #3 spot now that her 2014 Official World Cup anthem “La La La” isn’t getting the plays it was while the global sporting competition was still underway. All in all, the singer’s channel ended the week with more than 41.7 million views.

Katy Perry is once again in the #4 spot. Perry, too, hasn’t had any major releases in the past several weeks, but her online video catalog continues to get played. The American pop star’s YouTube channel ended the week just shy of 39.4 million views.

And rounding out the Top 5 is The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. A high-pitched Morgan Freeman helped the YouTube outpost of Fallon’s late night talk show jump up 27% in views on the week to top out at more than 39.2 million views.

Top Gainers

The honor of one of our Top Gainers this week goes to Pharrell Williams.

Quite possibly the happiest musician on YouTube released a music video for his track “Come Get It Bea“. The video quickly amassed an eight-figure view count, helping to give Pharrell’s YouTube channel a 1,027% week-over-week increase in views, nearly 14 million views on the week, and the #43 spot in the US.

The top 50 most viewed U.S. YouTube channels this week amassed a total of 1,121,163,673 views. Here’s the distribution of those channels by multi-channel network:

VEVO: 18 channels in the U.S. Top 50, with Enrique Iglesias topping out at #2.
Maker Studios: 3 channels in the Top 50, with Epic Rap Battles of History at #33.
DEFY Media, Fullscreen, Movieclips, WMG: 2 channels each the Top 50, with Defy’s Smosh at #12, Fullscreen’s PopularMMOs at #7, Movieclips’ MovieclipsTrailers at #9, and WMG’s Jason Derulo at #13.
