Top 50 Most Viewed U.S. YouTube Channels • Week Of 7/4/14

It’s another installment of the weekly Tubefilter Chart of the Top 50 Most Viewed U.S. YouTube Channels and it’s a good one for internationally renowned musicians.

Chart Toppers

Shakira maintains her #1 spot on the U.S. charts for another week. The international pop star rounded out the past seven days with more than 58.7 million views thanks to the enduring popularity of her World Cup 2014 anthem, “La La La“. Next up in second place is perennial chart-topper DisneyCollectorBR. The online video collection of people playing with children’s toys racked up nearly 55.9 million views on the week.

In third this week is Katy Perry. Fans of the 29-year-old singer are still celebrating her “Birthday” and the rest of her online video catalog. Despite no major releases in the past several weeks, Perry’s channel still scored nearly 42.1 million views on the week. Up next in the #4 spot is Pitbull. Mr. 305 turned Mr. Worldwide also has an official World Cup song that continues to get plays. The enduring success of “We Are One” helped his channel score nearly 40.9 million views in the last seven days.

And rounding out the Top 5 is Enrique Iglesias. The Spanish singer-songwriter, actor, and record producer had no official World Cup song to push him up towards the top of the chart, just a music video catalog that keeps on getting plays. His channel ended the week just shy of 38 million views.

Top Gainers

Without any major viral hits in the U.S. this past week, CollegeHumor takes home the honor of Top Gainer both internationally and stateside.

Online video viewers by the millions decided to accept CollegeHumor’s online video dare and watched a three-minute-and-six-second video in which nothing happens. That helped push the channel up to the #22 spot in the U.S. with more than 19.2 million views, a 36% increase over the week prior.

All in all, the top 50 most viewed U.S. YouTube channels this week amassed a total of 1,069,896,454, views. Here’s the distribution of those channels by multi-channel network:

VEVO: 16 channels in the U.S. Top 50, with Shakira topping out at #1.
Fullscreen, Maker Studios: 3 channels each in the Top 50, with Fullscreen’s TheFineBros at #7 and Maker’s Epic Rap Battles of History at #15.
DEFY Media, Machinima, Movieclips, WMG: 2 channels each the Top 50, with Defy’s Smosh at #12, Machinima’s SkyDoesMinecraft at #11, Movieclips’ MovieclipsTrailers at #14, and WMG’s Jason Derulo at #9.
