Nerdist Adds New President And Its First Head Of Development

One day after its parent company announced a new executive, Nerdist Industries has picked up a pair of new hires of its own. The entertainment company founded by Chris Hardwick has announced a new President, Adam Rymer, and its first Head of Development, Jack Herrguth.

Rymer comes to Nerdist after eight years at Universal Studios; his experience in the film industry will likely be crucial for the Nerdist Channel, which has recently started offering exclusive clips from movies like Need for Speed and Bad Words. Herrguth, who previously worked for CBS and Comedy Central, will oversee production across multiple platforms in a newly-created position.

“I am thrilled to have Adam and Jack meld into the Nerdist Hive Mind,” said Hardwick. “They are smart, nice guys who are not only incredibly savvy

but whose personal interests fall squarely in line with types of content we’re making. When looking at potential team members, I always ask myself if they are people I would actually hang out with and the answer for these two gents is YES.”

A press release introducing the two new hires specifically highlighted the Nerdist News program as a “signature” offering. That series, released each weekday and hosted by Jessica Chobot, features updates about the goings-on of various geeky franchises.

Expect Rymer and Herrguth’s work to reach a variety of media as Nerdist continues to expand from its roots as a pop culture podcast. Personally, I’ll be satisfied if we can get a few more All-Star Celebrity Bowling episodes.
