BuzzFeed, CBS Try To Shake Up The Early Morning Interview

BuzzFeed has taken over the Internet with its click-friendly brand of content, and we’re now seeing what happens when it decides to disrupt the field of interviewing. The company’s BuzzFeed Brews channel is drawing some attention as it attempts to shake up the morning interview program.

BuzzFeed Brews is a joint production between BuzzFeed and CBS This Morning, and it started back in February 2013. It is essentially an ‘edgy’ interview program, replacing a traditional setting with a bar sporting tall cups of beer. In the beginning, BuzzFeed Brews only featured political guests, but thanks to a recent expansion of the program, host Peter Lauria‘s guests now include newsmakers in business, entertainment, and pop culture.

This expansion has allowed BuzzFeed Brews to shine. In particular, a clip from the most recent episode has gained more than 370,000 views (thanks, in part, to Jerry Seinfeld‘s controversial remarks on race in comedy):
